BBL (BroadBand Light) skin treatment is a cosmetic procedure that uses intense pulsed light to improve the appearance of the skin. It targets a variety of skin concerns such as pigmentation, sun damage, age spots, laxity and vascular lesions by delivering light energy that gently heats the upper layers of the skin.

Before your appointment, you’ll receive intake forms to fill out via your email address or arrive 10 mins early to fill out your forms in clinic.

Step 2 – Appointment with Technician

Each treatment comes with a complimentary consultation with our technician & physician.

It’s an opportunity for our team to understand your goals and to answer any questions or concerns you may have using our VISIA scan also known as a skin health analysis.

Step 3 – Your Custom Treatment Plan

This is the fun part! Your physician will create a custom treatment plan to help you achieve your desired results 💚

Preparation & Treatment Day

Some things to keep in mind leading up to your appointment day!

Step 1 – Few Days Prior to Treatment

No active ingridents for at least 5 days prior to treatment.

Step 2 – During Treatment

During a BBL session, the technician will clean and prep the area to be treated.

Then a gel is applied to the skin, and a handheld device is used to deliver light pulses.

You may feel a slight warming sensation or mild stinging, similar to a rubber band snap.

The procedure typically takes 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

Post Treatment

Following your appointment you will have access to 24 hr support

What is BBL + SkinTyte?

BBL treatment is non-invasive, with minimal discomfort and downtime, making it a popular choice for those seeking to rejuvenate their skin and achieve a clearer, more even-toned appearance.

What areas can be treated?

The skin is our largest organ and any area can be treated with BBL. Most commonly treated areas:

  • Face
  • Chest
  • Hands
  • Neck

Treatments can be done 2-12 weeks apart and 2-4 times a year, depending on treatment goals.

Post treatment

It’s crucial to avoid direct sun exposure and apply sunscreen. Keep the treated area clean, moisturized, and avoid harsh skincare products. Mild redness or swelling may occur but usually subsides within days.

Common Side Effects:

  • Temporary redness and mild swelling after treatment
  • Warmth or mild tingling sensation during treatment
  • Minor dryness or flaking post-treatment

Uncommon Side Effects:

  • Slight bruising or blistering
  • Temporary pigment changes such as darkening or lightening of spots
  • Mild sensitivity to sunlight

Rare Side Effects:

  • Burns or blistering (very rare with proper settings)
  • Prolonged redness or irritation
  • Infection (very rare)

Grace Stephenson is a Certified Medical Laser Technician as well as a Certified Professional Esthetician. She graduated from Blanche Macdonald, and Body Bar Laser Clinic.
