Do you really need a daily skin routine? Absolutely. As your body’s biggest organ, your skin protects your body from the many germs to which you’re exposed on a daily basis that threaten your health. Your skin also defends you from the harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun, which can damage healthy cells.

Healthy skin not only shields you, but it also makes you look more youthful and more vibrant. How you treat your skin today will impact the health and appearance of your skin in the future. It’s easier to prevent skin problems now than spend time and money trying to reverse the effect of neglect in the future.

A daily skin care routine is essential if you want to ensure your skin is not susceptible to skin disease, premature aging, and sun damage. If you haven’t quite figured out your skin regimen yet, we’ve got three products that should be part of your daily routine.

By wearing sunscreen regularly, you decrease the risk of developing cancer; it also helps keep your skin stay looking young as ultraviolet exposure is one of the leading causes of premature aging.

Wear sunscreen even if you’re indoors. After all, sunlight and harmful UV rays still find ways into your home through the windows. If you’re not leaving the house all day, sunscreen with a sun protection factor of at least 30 should be sufficient.

However, if you’re spending time outdoors, make sure you use a product with SPF 60 or higher. A water-resistant, broad-spectrum product is ideal; don’t forget to reapply every two hours if you sweat or go swimming.

Vitamin C Serum

Vitamin C serum can brighten your skin by boosting circulation. It’s hydrating, helps fade hyperpigmentation, prevents skin sagging, and results in smoother and more even complexion that glows.

Because Vitamin C helps your skin heal from surface damage and stimulate collagen production, regular use leads to the prevention of fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin C serum is a powerful antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals that may damage your cells, disrupting its ability to repair itself and produce collagen.

Vitamin C serum can be easily integrated into your daily routine. Wash your face as you usually do, use toner, and massage a few drops of Vitamin C serum into your face. Apply moisturizer and sunscreen afterward.

There’s a myth that you shouldn’t combine Retinol with Vitamin C; however, much research shows that the two work together beautifully to combat free radicals.

However, if you want to shorten your daily routine, but you still use both Vitamin C and Retinol regularly, you may want to use Vitamin C in the morning and use Retinol before bed. However, if you prefer to use Retinol in the morning, don’t forget to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30.

Many people love using Retinol as part of their night routine because skin rejuvenates during sleep. Retinol stimulates the production of new skin cells, fading dark spots from blemish scars, hyperpigmentation, and hormonal changes.

Before using any new products, remember to do a patch test first and wait 24 hours. If you want to continue the conversation on skin care, contact CüR Laser and Skin. We’re here to help you achieve and maintain your skin goals.
