No surgery. No knives. No suction hoses. No needles. No scars. No incisions. No downtime. No sweat!

With the powerful combination of CoolSculpting, TightSculptung, and EMSCULPT®, not only will you get amazing results, but you will also enjoy huge savings of over 30% – that’s at least $2200!. Here’s what CüR Sculpting can do:

  1. CoolSculpting® removes 20-40% of pinchable fat in the abdomen
  2. TightSculpting™ tightens sagging skin and also breaks down small amounts of subdermal fat
  3. EMSCULPT® removes 10-20% of subdermal fat and builds muscle by 10-20%.

CoolSculpting®

CoolSculpting® is a unique, FDA-cleared, patented procedure that was developed by Harvard scientists. Approved by Health Canada, CoolSculpting® uses a cooling process that targets the fat cells underneath the skin, freezing them to the point of cell death. Once crystallized, the fat cells ultimately die and are naturally eliminated from your body.

CoolSculpting® treats more than just your abdomen. Check out the other areas that CoolSculpting® targets with a high success rate:

  1. Love handles
  2. Hips
  3. Chin fat
  4. Male chest
  5. Inner thighs
  6. Banana rolls
  7. Bra bulge

CüR Sculpting is one of the only services that offers CoolSculpting using the Z Wave machine. The Z Wave is used after the treatment to massage the treated area. The machine transmits powerful radial shockwaves into the skin tissue, massaging the treated area more effectively and consistently than a manual massage. It stimulates your body’s recovery, providing up to 40% better results at no extra cost. Moreover, with our 2 CoolSculpting units, we offer DualSculpting – treating 2 separate areas at the same time – cutting down on treatment time!

TightSculpting™

Eager to rid yourself of fat you simply can’t get rid of and renew the appearance of your skin. TightSculpting™ is a non-surgical treatment that targets stubborn fat and sagging skin.

The TightSculpting™ applicator is placed over the treatment area and is then initiated. TightSculpting™ technology heats the skin layers and extracellular matrix beneath the surface of your skin. This contracts the collagen fibres while increasing the metabolism and production of new collagen fibres. TightSculpting™ treatments also apply irreversible electroporation which can destroy fat cells. Here are the areas that can be sculpted with TightSculpting™:

  1. Legs
  2. Arms
  3. Abs
  4. Back
  5. Face/Jawline (contouring)

EMSCULPT®

The EMSCULPT® treatment of our CüR Sculpting package can take your muscle building and fat burning to the next level. Whether you exercise 7 days a week or rarely hit the gym, EMSCULPT® is the key to targeting the pesky thin layer of fat that sits below your skin and right above the muscles.

EMSCULPT® uses high intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to trigger 20,000 powerful contractions – in the muscles of the abdomen or buttocks – up to 100% of their full potential. Contractions that are unattainable voluntarily – even by elite athletes.

Each non-invasive treatment uses magnetic energy to build muscle and burn fat, resulting in immediate improvement in tone and improved posture and contour. EMSCULPT® can be used to treat the following:

  1. Abdomen
  2. Buttocks

NOW AVAILABLE!!

EMSCULPT® to treat more areas, such as:

Fractional Laser Treatment: How Do They Work and What Do They Do?

As we age, our skin changes in appearance and characteristics. The uppermost layer of our skin, or epidermis, becomes thinner, making age-related or sun-damaged blemishes more visible. The dermis, the middle layer of our skin, begins to lose collagen and results in the development of wrinkles, sagging skin, and facial lines.

To target the epidermis and dermis, fractional lasers are used to bring healthy skin back up to the surface and stimulate collagen production, along with the growth of new skin cells. Therefore, fractional laser treatments can be ablative or non-ablative. Ablative lasers remove the uppermost layer of the skin, while non-ablative lasers target the underlying skin tissue

How Fractional Laser Treatments Work

Fractional laser treatment can be used for the treatment of sun damage, facial lines and wrinkles, skin pigmentation, and surgical and acne scarring. While fractional laser treatment works on just about any part of the body and can be used for all skin types, the technique would vary depending on skin type, the area being treated, the patient’s age, and other factors.

Fractional laser devices deliver a laser beam that is divided into thousands of minuscule beams. The laser system’s energy stimulates collagen in the skin, rejuvenating the skin cells in the dermis. Only a portion of the skin is treated at a time to help reduce downtime and to get the best results. This is actually how fractional laser treatments got their name as the laser is applied to only a “fraction” of the skin at any given time.

By allowing the laser to target and treat within a specific zone, the surrounding tissue remains healthy and intact. This allows the treated area, which has essentially been “injured” purposely, to heal faster as it is surrounded by supportive, healthy skin. Therefore, a fractional approach leads to faster healing than if all the tissue was subjected to the laser.

What to Expect From a Fractional Laser Treatment

Because the treatment does come with a certain level of discomfort, an anesthetic cream will be applied to the treatment area. Once the anesthetic has taken full effect, a gliding gel is applied, which will help the laser lay down its spot pattern and act as a contact lubricant. The sensation of the actual treatment is similar to a rubber band snapping on the skin. However, thanks to the numbing cream, the pain will be minimal. Furthermore, a cooling device is typically used to reduce discomfort.

After the treatment, the skin will feel like a mild sunburn. Swelling is normal, but it will typically be gone in 2-3 days. Over the next two weeks, the old skin will darken slightly and peel away to be replaced with new skin. Flaking can be managed with moisturizing cream. During the healing phase, it’s crucial to use a sunscreen with high SPF and avoid direct sun exposure. For best results, a series of treatments is recommended.

At CüR Laser and Skin, we carry the Fotona Dynamis to perform our micro laser peels and non-ablative fractional treatments. Fotona Dynamis offers next-generation laser skin resurfacing. As a complete rejuvenation solution, Dynamis treatments at CüR Laser and Skin range from superficial to deep peels. Because of the technology’s many features and settings, treatments can range from non-ablative to fully ablative.

Beyond skin resurfacing, ask us about how our Fotona Dynamis treatments are also used for acne and acne scar revision, pigmented lesions, and scar revision. Schedule a consultation today.

What Can IPL and BBL Do for Sun-Damaged Skin ?

Do you have sun-damaged skin or a ruddy complexion? When it comes to reversing damage to the skin caused by the sun and other skin issues, IPL and BBL are the most popular laser services to consider.

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. An IPL device uses multiple wavelengths to treat sun damage, age spots, and visible veins to improve skin texture. There’s some confusion on the difference between IPL and BBL, which stands for Broadband Light. To simplify, BBL is a type of IPL. The term was coined by the Sciton company to differentiate it from other IPL devices.

What is BBL and How Does it Work?

BBL is touted as a highly advanced version of IPL. Compared to IPL, BBL boasts superior accuracy, safety, and efficacy. What also sets BBL apart from other photorejuvenation therapies is its ability to treat darker skin.
Often, topical products are not enough to penetrate the deeper layers of skin. For optimal results, it’s best to complement your regular skincare routine with proven, effective treatments like BBL that help restore skin.

BBL works by carefully directing controlled light energy over the treatment area. The visible light spectrum involves violet to red colors, and it does not include ultraviolet light, which is what causes sun damage and skin cancer. The completely safe light energy is converted to heat as it approaches the target. The upper layers of the skin are heated gently, stimulating skin cells in the target area to regenerate.

For age spots or brown spots, the BBL reaches the pigment by penetrating the skin, fading the dark spot so that it will eventually lighten to match the surrounding skin. BBL also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin fibers, which leads to smoother skin texture, more even skin tone, and a reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, freckles, and age spots.

Patients who have undergone BBL treatments for sun-damaged skin describe the procedure as bearable, claiming it feels like a series of tiny rubber-bands are snapping the treatment area. There is some discomfort, particularly in more sensitive areas. It boils down to individual pain tolerance. For this reason, a topical anesthetic is typically applied.

One of the best things about BBL is that there is no downtime associated with the treatment. You will, however, experience some redness similar to a sunburn. Expect the treated area to darken over the next 1-2 weeks. The skin will heal and slough off, revealing new, smoother skin. Because the skin is sensitive after treatment and the weeks following, it’s crucial to protect your skin from the sun. Sun exposure may result in severe sunburns.

At CüR Laser and Skin, we carry the Sciton Forever Young BBL. As a system that is widely regarded as the most powerful IPL device on the market today for improving color, tone, and texture of the skin, it can be used to treat a wide range of skin issues. Not only can it help with sun damage, but the system’s multiple settings allow us to treat age spots and even spider veins and other small, visible veins. It can also be used to reduce and correct acne, facial flushing, or rosacea.

When performed by a certified technician or practioner, Sciton BBL can offer long-lasting results and little-to-no downtime. The whole procedure will take about an hour or less, depending on the size of the treatment area. To get the best results, it’s ideal to do a series of treatments. It’s rare to get the desired or optimal effects after just one procedure. We will also recommend the best skin products that will help you maintain your new skin and investment for longer.

Harpreet Pander on Sun screen

Sun Screen

SUNSCREEN is by far the absolute single most important rule #1 to skin care routine. It is probably one of the most powerful skincare products you could use to prevent aging. Honestly, I can’t emphasize enough how daily use is crucial for everyone. Did you know that sun damage is the leading cause of early signs of aging, premature aging, sunburns, melanoma and can lead to skin cancer.

It is definitely something you will thank yourself for when you reach your 40’s and can start preventing early aging, dark spots, sagging skin and wrinkles.

I’m a huge fan of sunscreen and have been incorporating it into my skincare routine for years now. It has made a big difference to the overall health of my skin and I do have a couple favorites that have helped improve my skin.

Mineral or Chemical Sunscreen

Personally, I prefer natural mineral sunscreens over chemical sunscreens because mineral sunscreens protect from UVA & UVB rays, start working instantly and last longer in the direct sunscreen than the chemical sunscreens. Mineral sunscreens are also the preferred type of sunscreen for sensitive skin and those prone to redness.

The two active ingredients to look for in a sunscreen are titanium oxide and zinc oxide. They are both minerals that do not enter the bloodstream so are safe on your skin.

SPF

SPF is short for sun protection factor and helps to block your skin against the sun’s radiation. I would recommend an at least an SPF 30 which provides about 30 times more protection against the sun than just normal skin without sunscreen.

My Picks

Elta MD’s UV Daily Tinted Sunscreen has been my go to for the past couple years and the best tinted sunscreen I have found. It has no scent, applies wonderfully with no chalkiness at all and protects against UVA & UVB rays. I’ve been using this product for years now and it works great under makeup.

This is also great to put on after a treatment such as a facial, photofacial, peel or other facial procedures done, and you don’t want to apply makeup but want a hint of color and protection. This product also has non tinted version, if you’re looking for something without the tint. Both versions come in SPF 40 and SPF 46.

SkinMedica Total Defense & Repair.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Kumar Shivdasani at Cur Laser & Skin for a while now and ever since he introduced me to SkinMedica Total Defense & Repair SPF 34, I’ve been obsessed. I’ve been using this for the past 4 months and wanted to be sure that it did everything it promised before recommending it to you all.

Here are the 3 reasons I absolutely prefer this one as my favorite.

  • Protects skin from harmful infrared rays (IR-A rays)
  • Reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles over consistent use
  • Improves the appearance of damaged skin(has antioxidants)

Now a little secret to avoid that chalkiness on your skin from sunscreen- add a drop of vitamin E oil to your skin before applying the sunscreen which will also give your skin a nice dewy glow! Vitamin E oil is also great for replenishing and recharging the skin.

Another little secret, I dab a little of the SkinMedica Total Defense & Repair under your eyes as well. A tip I got from Dr. Shivdasani. The skin under our eyes is the most sensitive and thinnest, the antioxidants in this sunscreen will really help to protect it.

I believe skincare is an investment and I love to do my research to see what products work best. I also know how confusing it can be to choose from so many products, so I’m happy I can share what works for me and why.

If you have any questions, please feel free to DM me at @harpreet_pandher. Look forward to sharing more of my tips with you!

How to Deal with Excessive Underarm Sweating

Our bodies need to sweat to regulate our body temperature; it’s a normal bodily function essential to ridding our bodies of excess heat from muscles that have been working hard. When your body’s internal temperature is elevated, your body sweats. Your skin’s surface cools when the sweat evaporates.

Sweating also helps the body maintain a healthy level of salinity by sending sodium back into the blood. However, while sweating is essential, excessive sweating, particularly in the underarm area, can be stressful and embarrassing.

People who suffer from excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis can spend thousands of dollars a year on dry-cleaning to get rid of sweat stains. They may try brand after brand of antiperspirants that claim to be powerful enough to work on even the most severe cases of excessive underarm sweat. But what happens when not even the clinical strength deodorants do the trick? What if they only tackle the body odor but not the excessive perspiration?

The truth is that antiperspirants don’t actually stop the sweating process but block the sweat ducts and reduce the amount of sweat that reaches the skin’s surface. Many experts believe that our bodies may eventually adapt and develop resistance to the deodorant brands if we use them too long; therefore, switching up brands every few months is best.

The miraDry System

When it comes to heavy sweating, it’s not enough to keep the smell at bay. Sweat glands are located all over your body; however, the ones that cause the most embarrassment are found in the underarms as the excessive moisture will still leave humiliating pit stains.

Fortunately, there’s a procedure that can help if you’re self-conscious about your underarm sweat. With FDA-approved miraDry, you no longer have to avoid work opportunities or social activities because you worry about others seeing you sweat heavily.

The miraDry system is a non-surgical treatment designed to reduce underarm sweat and odor dramatically. The procedure can be completed in as little as one hour. miraDry is a more effective solution compared to prescription-strength deodorants, sweat shields, or giving in to the exhausting task of changing clothes multiple times a day.

Local anesthesia is administered to ensure comfort during the treatment. Your sweat glands will be mapped out. Using a handheld device to emit electromagnetic energy, you will feel a slight suction that brings the glands closer to the surface.
Using thermal energy, the miraDry System targets and eliminates underarm sweat and odor glands; cooling is applied to protect the skin and keep the patient comfortable. The glands will not grow back once they have been removed. The treatment is clinically proven to have an average of 82% sweat reduction and 89% odor reduction.

Many patients describe the miraDry procedure as painless thanks to the local anesthesia. Because there is no downtime, you can return to your regular activities after the treatment. You may experience some minimal bruising, numbness, sensitivity, or swelling in the underarm area for a few days following the procedure.

As with all cosmetic procedures, the number of treatments to achieve optimal results will vary from person to person. To learn more about miraDry and if you’re an ideal candidate, don’t hesitate to reach out to CüR Laser and Skin.

Why Chronic Snoring Shouldn’t Be Ignored

Because snoring is so common, many people think it’s harmless. However, loud, habitual snoring may be an indicator of serious underlying health issues. In this guide, we explain how and why we snore, the causes, underlying conditions, and how it impacts our sleep partners.

The Physiology of Snoring

The muscles in our throat relax when we sleep, causing our throat to fall backward and become narrow. When we breathe in, the walls of the throat vibrate, creating the characteristic snoring sound; when the air passages in our throat and nose are not blocked, there shouldn’t be any snoring. However, the narrower the airway becomes due to blockages, the more our soft palate and uvula vibrate. The greater the vibrations, the louder the noise of snoring.

Nasal blockages can be caused by many factors, including nasal septum deformities or nasal allergies. When your throat tissues or nasal passages are congested, swelling of tissue fluids causes loss of muscle tone and results in insufficient air flow through the airway.

Air blockages that lead to snoring may also be a result of sleeping at the wrong angle such as when lying on your back; by sleeping on your back, tissues in the upper airway are relaxed backward by gravity and obstruct the airways. Overweight people are also more likely to be snorers as another cause of snoring is bulky throat tissue.

When Snoring is Harmful

Many snorers have medical conditions that contribute to snoring such as a deviated septum, thick tissues in their soft palate, or enlarged adenoids and tonsils. Occasional snoring is usually not a cause for alarm; however, habitual snoring may indicate a more severe health issue that shouldn’t be ignored. Daytime dysfunction and risk of heart disease are common adverse effects on health caused by snoring.

Obstructive sleep apnea is one of the more alarming health problems associated with snoring; it creates several problems for the snorer including strain on the heart, disruptive sleep, long breathing interruptions, daytime fatigue, and chronic headaches. Sleep apnea may also cause obesity and low oxygen levels in the blood, which may result in pulmonary hypertension.

How Snoring Affects the People Around You

While snoring may be an early sign of future health risks, it may also affect the health of the people who live with the snorer.

Loud snoring is often more than just a nuisance for sleep partners as it’s enough to disrupt sleep or keep them up all night; sleep deprivation and poor-quality sleep also impact your health and even puts the non-snorer also at risk of daytime dysfunction and heart disease.

Sleep deprivation caused by a snoring bed partner can lead to daytime drowsiness that results in accidents, impair attention and alertness, kill sex drive, age your skin prematurely, and mess with your memory. Chronic sleep loss also puts you at risk for heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, obesity, and diabetes.

Ways to Stop Snoring

If chronic allergies cause your snoring, improve your condition with the help of your doctor, who may prescribe allergy medications. Heavy snoring also often occurs from taking sedatives or alcohol, which cause the throat muscles to relax too much; avoiding consuming these before you go to bed may reduce your risk of snoring.

Some people who are serious about minimizing their snoring for the sake of everyone who lives in their home may turn to devices such as anti-snoring mouthpieces, medical-grade nose vents, nasal dilators, and tongue displacement technology.
Because snoring occurs most often in people who are overweight, losing weight is the ideal first step to remedy your snoring. In fact, loud snoring may be your body’s way of telling you it’s time to address your weight issues. Want to continue the conversation on how weight loss may be the key to stop your snoring? Let’s talk.

Lose the Belly Fat the Right Way

The fat around the midsection is the type of fat that most people find most challenging to get rid of, no matter how hard they work out or eat right. However, it’s not something you should give up on since a trim tummy doesn’t just make you look better, but it lowers your risk of diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer.

A combination of healthy food choices and regular physical activity is the foundation for preventing belly fat from building up and minimizing existing belly fat.

What to Eat and What to Avoid

To prevent fat build-up, you need to avoid the types of food that cause it. Many experts agree that sugar, alcohol, and foods that are high in fat should be limited while you should introduce more high-fiber grains, fruits, vegetables, and lean protein into your diet. However, what’s most important when it comes to nutrition is a balance.

Over-indulging on fatty, processed food and giving into fast-food cravings are the worst thing you can do for your health. You don’t need to eliminate all the “unhealthy” stuff. You only have to eat them in moderation. By eating right and combining with regular physical activity, your body will function and metabolize better, naturally ridding itself of stubborn fat.

Move More, Lose More

When it comes to belly fat, the truth is that there is no such thing as a spot exercise. However, many health professionals maintain that a combination of cardiovascular exercise and resistance training is crucial to preventing and reducing existing belly fat. Aerobic exercise also helps reduce liver fat and improve insulin resistance. Resistance training helps increase lean body mass, which allows you to bid farewell to that muffin top.

However, to see results, you need to be consistent and work out regularly. Exercise needs to become a part of your lifestyle if you expect to stop stomach fat build-up long-term.

Take Your Body to the Next Level with EMSculpt

You work hard and eat right. Unfortunately, no matter how many times you hit the gym, miles you run, or diets you try, you can’t seem to lose that stubborn layer of fat that has settled in your tummy area which keeps your abs from shining through. The truth is that no amount of dieting and exercise will target that thin layer of fat. But before you consider a tummy tuck or liposuction, you should know some alternatives are non-invasive.

EMSCULPT is a non-invasive body-contouring treatment that can take your body to the next level by treating the thinner layers of fat in your abdomen, creating muscle definition and that “6-pack” you’ve been dreaming about.

EMSCULPT uses High-Intensity Focussed ElectroMagnetic (HIFEM) technology to trigger 20,000 powerful contractions – in the muscles of the abdomen or buttocks – up to 100% of their full potential. This level of contractions is unattainable voluntarily – even by elite athletes!

Using magnetic energy; each treatment builds muscle and burns fat. While optimal results are seen 60 to 90 days post-treatment, immediate improvement in tone may be noted with the first treatment, resulting in improved posture and contour. You will notice an improvement in tone, posture, contour, and muscle definition continuing through subsequent treatments.
Do you want to learn more about what EMSCULPT can do for you? Just ask.

What Makes a Person Look “Beautiful”?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Real beauty is to be true to oneself.
Beauty is only skin-deep.

There is no shortage of beauty clichés out there that try to define beauty as being more about one’s soul than aesthetics. But if real beauty is to be true to oneself, then we should also stop denying that we are wired to appreciate physical attractiveness and even want it for ourselves.

To some extent, we all worry about our looks. We get dressed up for special events or dates. We put on makeup, when we usually don’t, to look more put together for a job interview or meeting. We work out a little more than usual in the days leading up to a beach getaway with friends. We go to the salon or spa to make our hair shine and our skin glow.

It’s human nature to be captivated and compelled by physical beauty. We can’t ignore the fact that attractive people are more pleasing to the eye. We idolize celebrities for their gorgeous faces and beautiful bodies.

But what makes us this way? Is there a universal formula for beauty? Is there a scientific explanation for why we find some people more attractive than others? Why are we innately drawn to beauty?

The Search for Symmetry

There’s plenty of research focused on how beauty has the power to trigger our brains and affect our behavior. One of those studies takes a historical look at beauty perceptions over the centuries. While it’s true that beauty standards have evolved, and the decades have seen many variations of what is considered an alluring body type, one of the things that has remained constant throughout history is the appreciation for a symmetrical face.

The “Golden Ratio” or the “Divine Proportion” is the mathematical number of 1.618:1. Also often called “Phi,” this ratio reasons that the most beautiful things in nature are symmetrical. Concerning the face, eyes, nose, mouth, jaw, and so on that proportion and position according to “Phi” are perceived as the most beautiful or attractive.

Celebrities such as Halle Berry, Amber Rose, Kim Kardashian, and Kate Moss are just some of the women whose faces have scored exceptionally well when scanned on the Golden Ratio grid. George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and David Beckham are just some of the male stars whose faces are closest to the Phi ratio.

More Than Just Good Looks

However, more studies prove that our attraction to beauty goes much deeper than an appreciation for symmetry.
Research shows that the majority of men prefer women with pleasing facial characteristics such as plump lips, clear skin, bright eyes, and healthy hair; they’re also drawn to women with fuller hips and bosom and a smaller waist. More women tend to like men with masculine features such as a defined jaw, right muscle tone, muscular chest, and bright eyes.

While humans may seem superficial, these preferences are more about how a human being’s brain is hardwired to seek out a mate that is healthy enough to reproduce. Because symmetry plays a crucial role in indicating good health and strength, we find ourselves drawn to proportionate features. Therefore, we naturally are attracted to beauty for the simple reason that our DNA pushes us to populate and ensure the survival of our species.

What do you think makes a person beautiful? Do you have any interesting facts or beliefs about beauty? Tell us about it.

The Secret to Getting Rid of Stubborn Fat

Why the Secret to Getting Rid of Stubborn Fat is To Keep Cool

There’s no argument that a balanced diet, regular exercise, and a healthy lifestyle are crucial to enhancing and maintaining your wellbeing and physical fitness. But what if you’ve done everything right and still can’t seem to shake off that excess body fat in problem areas like your belly, thighs, and back? What if you’ve long hit your ideal weight and still have that layer of fat that keeps the abdominal muscles or “6-pack” you’ve worked hard for to show themselves? And what about that bulge under your chin that won’t go away?

The reality is that no matter how hard we work out or how disciplined we are with our diet, stubborn areas of pinchable pockets of fat may remain.

Someone may try to convince you that you need to hit the gym more often or give you a list of foods to avoid; however, there is no specific exercise or diet that will only target those problem areas. You’ll likely lose weight but still be left with that layer of fat.

What if we told you that the key to getting rid of those bulges isn’t dieting or exercise but a revolutionary technique that freezes and destroys fat cells, and expels them from the body?

Body Contouring with CoolSculpting

Fortunately, much has changed in the world of body contouring treatments over the years, giving us solutions when diet and exercise just won’t cut it. CoolSculpting is one of those innovative treatments that has made us realize we don’t have to give up and accept the saddlebags, back fat, and belly fat that insist on sticking around no matter how hard we workout or diet.

Developed by Harvard scientists, CoolSculpting is a patented and FDA-cleared procedure that is also approved by Health Canada. The process targets pinchable areas fat in the body such as the inner and outer thighs, abdomen, flanks, back fat, chin and jawline, upper arms, above the knees, and buttocks. Therefore, it’s ideal for targeting man boobs, love handles, banana rolls, and bra bulges.

Are you scared of knives, suction hoses, and needles? Afraid invasive treatments will leave you with scars? With CoolSculpting, you don’t have to worry about any of that. The most you will have to worry about is some minor swelling, redness, or bruising in the treated areas – all of which are temporary.

CoolSculpting technology uses controlled cooling to target and kills those stubborn fat cells by freezing them to the point of cell death. In a few short weeks following your treatment, your body will naturally process the crystallized fat cells, eliminating them from your body.

CoolSculpting is considered a long-term solution because once those fat cells are treated, they’re gone. The best part about CoolSculpting is that it’s easy to fit into your schedule as each application takes 35 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Multiple applications may be needed to treat a larger area like the abdomen and may be done during one visit. Because we have two devices, we offer DualSculpting and can do both sides of your body at the same time. You can have multiple areas done in one visit, taking the same amount of time you would probably spend at the gym trying to “isolate” those spots.

At CüR Laser and Skin, we carry the Z Wave machine, making us one of the only CoolSculpting clinics to provide an additional treatment that massages the treated area, providing up to 40% better results at no extra cost.

Laser Hair Reduction: Separating Fact from Fiction

Many people turn to laser hair reduction because they’re looking for smooth, stubble-free skin. They also want to free themselves from the hassle of regular shaving and painful waxing sessions. With any cosmetic procedure, it’s essential to separate the myths from the truth if you want to have the best experience and results. It’s true that lasers can target unwanted hairs on the body, starting at the root. The intense heat of the lasers works to slowly destroy the hair follicle, reducing the chance that the hair will grow again.

However, a few misconceptions are swirling around about what hair reduction is and isn’t. We’re here to set the record straight.

5 Hair Reduction Myths You Need to Stop Believing

1. It’s completely painless

The pain level will be different for everyone and will depend entirely on your personal pain threshold.

Some patients won’t need any numbing cream, while others will not be able to sit through the treatment
without a volatile reaction. Some people have described the sensation as tiny pinpricks, often comparing it
to a small rubber band snapping the skin.

2. 100% hair reduction is guaranteed

Laser hair reduction doesn’t get rid of hair permanently; however, it reduces hair growth drastically. At some
point, the hair will be so thin and so fine that you will barely even notice it. Therefore, to say that laser
treatment can remove all hair entirely would be inaccurate. However, because completing all your treatments
will result in significant hair reduction, the little hair that does grow will be barely visible. Most clients
will experience an 85% – 95% reduction in hair.

3. One treatment is enough for permanent results

It takes more than one treatment to see results; the number of treatments needed will vary from person to
person. Some people may need as many as 12 sessions, while another person may need only 5. It boils down to
the area that is being treated, as some parts of your body have coarser hair while other parts have finer
hair. Each varies with every individual.

4. Electrolysis is the same as laser hair reduction

laser hair reduction and electrolysis both target follicles under the skin’s surface; however, electrolysis
involves inserting a probe into the hair follicle and killing it with an electric current. With laser hair
removal, laser pulses can treat several hairs at once and takes a matter of milliseconds. For this reason,
laser hair reduction treatments are more popular than electrolysis.

5. Laser hair reduction is harmful

Laser hair reduction does not expose you to radiation, nor does it cause cancer. Because the lasers only
target the hair follicles, it does not pose a health threat to your internal organs. Therefore, laser hair
removal also does not cause infertility – another common Laser hair reduction myth. Looking to improve the way your skin looks and feels? Laser technology and laser therapy have evolved over
the years, and there are numerous ways in which they can be beneficial for your skin. At CüR Laser and
Skin, we bring the latest laser treatments to our clients. Request an appointment today.
